Forklift Driver

Salary $20-$25 per hour

The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating a forklift to transport, relocate, stack, and rotate materials. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Forklift Operator will be unloading materials safely to shop areas. Efficiently load and stack materials in the appropriate designated areas. Ensure materials are accurate and free of damage. Move raw materials as well as finished units (service bodies, flatbeds) from one production area to another. Inspect equipment and loads for safe transporting. Conduct daily inspections on forklift machines and report any damages. Replace LP tanks in a safe and efficient manner.

• Move controls to operate an industrial powered trucks for loading and unloading.
• Watch gauges and other indicators to make sure machine is working properly.
• Inspect load for accuracy and safely move it around the facility and shop to ensure timely and complete delivery.

Work Environment
This job requires working in an open material-moving equipment. Includes exposure to sounds and noise level that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires working in a very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures. Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions. Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 50lbs periodically. Requires bending, twisting, walking, repetitive movement, standing, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings. Requires exposure to hazardous equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

Required Education and Experience
Valid Driver license
2+ years experience of operating forklift.

Preferred Education and Experience
Certified.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must pass written and driving test.
Must pass basic math test including reading a measuring tape.
Must pass pre-employment drug test, and physical.
